Half-Time Report: Bayern Munich in control against Raja Casablanca

Bayern Munich are 2-0 up against Raja Casablanca at half time in the FIFA Club World Cup final.

Bayern Munich are 2-0 up against Raja Casablanca in the FIFA Club World Cup final at half time.

Toni Kroos had a early effort that Raja goalkeeper Khalid Askri fumbled, but no Bayern player could pounce for the rebound.

However, it was 1-0 to the German side a few minutes later. Xherdan Shaqiri sent in a cross and Brazilian defender Dante hammered the ball into the roof of the net.

Thomas Muller and David Alaba combined, with the latter hitting a low shot that the goalkeeper again spilled, but he was just able to prevent it from crossing the line.

Mouhssine Iajour had a rare chance for Raja, but fired wide when a pass to a teammate seemed the better option.

That cost them as Thiago Alcantara made it 2-0 with a rasping drive into the top corner after good build-up play by Alaba. Shaqiri then hit a low drive, but Askri tipped it wide.

Raja almost grabbed a goal five minutes before half time. Manuel Neuer failed to clear properly and was stranded, but Chemseddine Chitibi's lob landed wide.
