Jamie Murray, Bruno Soares move closer to last four of ATP World Tour Finals

Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares ease to a straight-sets win over Bob and Mike Bryan at the ATP World Tour Finals.

Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares have moved to the brink of qualifying for the last four of the ATP World Tour Finals.

The second seeds at the end-of-season event in London are looking to close the year as the world's best doubles pairing, and they took another step towards achieving that with a 6-3 6-4 victory over Bob and Mike Bryan.

Last year, Murray and previous partner John Peers blew a chance to beat the legendary brothers to make it through to the semi-finals but the Scot has all but assured a place at the weekend as he and Soares recorded their second straight-sets win in a row.

A single break of serve was enough in each set as they conceded just seven points behind their own delivery in the entire match, which lasted just 61 minutes.

Murray and Soares could have secured their progress by the time they face Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo on Thursday, but one set is likely to be enough for the pair if they still have work to do in their final group match.
