Exeter Chiefs 43-6 Sale Sharks

Exeter Chiefs demolish Sales Sharks 43-6 in the Aviva Premiership game at Sandy Park.

Exeter Chiefs dominated Sale Sharks at Sandy Park to secure a 43-6 win in the Aviva Premiership this afternoon.

An early penalty from Ignacio Mieres gave Chiefs the lead and he followed that up with a try on 17 minutes.

Another penalty on 22 minutes from Mieres increased the home side's advantage, before Nick Macleod struck back for Sale with a penalty of his own four minutes later.

Mieres scored another penalty just before half time to confirm the home side's dominance.

After the break, a try from Aly Muldowney on 44 minutes extended Exeter's lead, before Macleod was on target with another penalty for Sale.

However, there was to be no comeback from the away side as tries from Matt Jess and Tom Johnson saw Exeter race into a 31-6 lead.

Jess helped himself to a second try after 67 minutes, before Chris Budgen also registered on 73 minutes. A conversion from Gareth Steenson rounded off the scoring for Exeter, who dominated the game throughout.

The final whistle blew with the score at 43-6.
