Tottenham Hotspur reportedly plan to sell English midfielder Dele Alli next summer after failing to offload him in the recent transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly planned to sell English midfielder Dele Alli next summer.

The Lilywhites were said to be open to offers for the 25-year-old in the recent transfer window, but were unable to command their desired fee.

Despite ongoing links away from the club, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly discussing a loan deal last season, Alli has remained in North London, and they are not expecting to be able to offload him in January.

According to Football Insider, Nuno Espirito Santo's side are instead hoping that an upturn in form over the season will allow for a profitable sale of the midfielder next summer, when he will have turned 26 and completed his seventh season at the club.

Alli arrived from Milton Keynes Dons in 2015 and enjoyed his most clinical years under Mauricio Pocchetino, hitting 37 Premier League goals in his first three seasons at the club, while he failed to find the net in the English top flight last season.

Following the appointment of Nuno over the summer, the Englishman has started all six Premier League games this season and opened his account with a goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers, but he has since featured in three consecutive heavy defeats.
