Harry Redknapp has admitted that Tottenham Hotspur need “a miracle” in order to finish the season in the top four.
Spurs, currently sixth in the table, face fourth-placed Man City at Eastlands tonight. Speaking ahead of the game, Redknapp lauded the opposition’s prospects.
“Roberto Mancini has got a fantastic squad,” he said. “They’re in a great position. They are six points ahead of us and they have a better goal difference by miles.”
With three games to play, the manager commented that “it will take a miracle” for Spurs to finish fourth.
Meanwhile, Mancini has expressed his confidence that the Blues will safely hang on to fourth place.
“I don’t think we have a problem for fourth spot,” the manager said. “We still have three games left and we only need three points.”
If Man City do walk away victorious tonight, they will stand two points behind third-placed Arsenal. It would also guarantee them at least a qualifying place in next season’s Champions League.
