Sydney FC hit three past Perth Glory

Sydney FC move into second place in the A-League table after a 3-0 victory away at Perth Glory.

Sydney FC have moved into a three-way tie at the top of the A-League table with a 3-0 win away at Perth Glory.

Two goals from Alex Brosque and one from Bernie Ibini-Isei proved enough as the visitors comfortably extended their unbeaten away record to 12 games.

The opening chance of the game fell to the home side but Rostyn Griffiths couldn't keep his header down, before Sydney responded through Chris Naumoff who failed to find the target from eight yards.

Midway through the opening period, a curling effort from Milos Dimitrijevic struck the Glory crossbar, while Danny Vukovic had to be alert to prevent Brosque's volley finding the back of the net.

However, Brosque atoned for failing to score on that occasion by breaking the deadlock 10 minutes before the break. Despite Vukovic saving well from Marc Janko, the Sydney captain was well placed to convert the rebound from close range.

When the teams returned for the second half, Sydney had the momentum and two more goals in the space of five minutes put the game to bed at the nib Stadium.

On the hour mark, Ibini-Isei controlled a pass from Sebastian Ryall before firing into the corner from 20 yards, and five minutes later, Ibini-Isei turned provider to set up Brosque for his second from just inside the penalty area.

Perth almost found an immediate response through Richard Garcia, but after his header struck the bar, Sydney rediscovered their rhythm with Janko driving an effort straight at Vukovic.

As the game drew to a close, Sydney pushed for a fourth with Ibini-Isei being denied a second from distance, but the visitors were content to settle for three to move ahead of Glory in the standings on goal difference.
