Liverpool manager Arne Slot has reportedly given the thumbs-up to the Reds making a move for a highly-rated Eredivisie attacker in the summer transfer window.

Amid suggestions that the Merseyside giants want to improve their wide options for the 2024-25 season and beyond, PSV Eindhoven's Johan Bakayoko is supposedly on the shortlist.

The 21-year-old continued to go from strength to strength in the most recent campaign, conjuring up 14 goals and as many assists from 14 matches in all competitions as PSV surged to title glory.

Bakayoko's contributions include a six-game scoring run in the Eredivisie from March 30 to May 5, while he also played a fundamental role in PSV reaching the knockout rounds of the Champions League.

Price tag set: Arsenal 'lay out conditions' for Smith Rowe sale

    © Reuters

Arsenal have reportedly laid out their financial demands to let struggling attacker Emile Smith Rowe leave the club this summer.

As a graduate of Arsenal's Hale End system, the England international has always been held in high regard by Gooners, and he sent tongues wagging in the 2021-22 season with 10 Premier League goals.

However, it has been largely downhill for Smith Rowe ever since, as injuries and the form of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard have seen him demoted to a bit-part role under Mikel Arteta.

The 23-year-old can also be deployed as a midfielder but has failed to displace Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice in such positions, making just 19 appearances last term and setting up two goals.

Broken promises: Arsenal man 'makes transfer request' amid four-way battle

    © Reuters

One of Arsenal's home-grown talents has reportedly informed the Gunners that he wants to assess his options for a transfer elsewhere in the summer window.

The 2022-23 season was one of limited game time for Reiss Nelson, but he made stellar impacts off the bench against Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth, completing an amazing comeback against the latter with a 97th-minute winner.

Despite playing the majority of that campaign as Bukayo Saka's deputy, Nelson was rewarded for his efforts as a substitute with a new long-term contract, which runs until the end of the 2026-27 campaign and includes a 12-month extension option.

Mikel Arteta had allegedly promised Nelson that he would play a more important role in the side in the 2023-24 campaign, but the former England youth international started just five games in total, including one in the Premier League and one in the Champions League.

Liverpool planning double Serie A raid this summer?

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing two players from Serie A during this summer's transfer window.

Following a nine-year spell under the expert tutelage of German head coach Jurgen Klopp, the Reds will be embarking on the start of a new era during the 2024-25 campaign.

Fresh from a successful stint at Feyenoord in the Eredivisie, Arne Slot will be the lucky man to take the reins at Anfield, with the mission of knocking Manchester City off their Premier League perch.

After being involved in a three-way tussle at the top of the league during 2023-24, Klopp's side dropped off significantly in April, leaving Pep Guardiola's troops and Arsenal to battle it out for the English crown.

Man City 'huge admirers' of striker amid Erling Haaland exit rumours

    © Reuters

Manchester City have reportedly identified a replacement for Erling Haaland should the prolific attacker leave the club in the near future.

Since making the high-profile switch from Borussia Dortmund to the Citizens during the summer of 2022, the 23-year-old has netted 90 goals in 98 competitive appearances for the English champions.

Despite only being part of Pep Guardiola's ranks for 24 months, Haaland has already lifted two Premier Leagues and a Champions League title on the blue side of Manchester.

Unlike the majority of top talent in football, the Norwegian will have the summer off after his country failed to qualify for Euro 2024 in Germany.

Manchester City's Mateo Kovacic has reportedly attracted interest from Turkish side Galatasaray ahead of this summer's transfer window.

The 30-year-old was an additional to an array of talent already situated at the Etihad last summer, when Pep Guardiola's troops were still celebrating their treble-winning term of 2022-23.

Playing 30 times in the Premier League this campaign - starting 16 of those - Kovacic helped Man City to lift their fourth straight English crown ahead of challengers Arsenal and Liverpool.

In all competitions, the former Chelsea man made 46 appearances in the 2023-24 term on the blue side of Manchester, finding the net on three occasions.

Aston Villa have reportedly been in discussions with Chelsea over a potential deal for Ian Maatsen during this summer's transfer window.

The 22-year-old spent the second half of the 2023-24 campaign on loan at Borussia Dortmund, making 23 appearances for the German giants, scoring three times and registering two assists in the process.

Maatsen is due back at Stamford Bridge this summer, and he has a contract with the London giants until the end of the 2025-26 campaign, with the deal said to include a release clause of £35m.

Villa and Chelsea are expected to do business this summer, with the latter said to be keen on Jhon Duran, while the former are thought to want Conor Gallagher.

Real Madrid suffer major blow in Davies pursuit as Bayern 'make key decision'

    Canada's Alphonso Davies on June 6, 2024
    © Reuters

Bayern Munich are reportedly willing to allow Alphonso Davies to enter the final 12 months of his contract in what is a huge blow to Real Madrid's chances of signing the Canadian.

Davies only has a contract at Allianz Arena until June 2025, and Bayern have thus far been left frustrated in their attempts to convince him to pen a fresh deal.

Real Madrid continue to be heavily linked with the Canada international, and a recent report claimed that Los Blancos were preparing to step up their interest after securing a move for Kylian Mbappe.

Los Blancos are thought to be willing to spend €40m (£33.7m) on Davies, viewing that figure as fair due to the length of time left on his contract at Allianz Arena.

Bruno Fernandes was once again a vital player for the Red Devils during the 2023-24 campaign, featuring on 48 occasions in all competitions, scoring 15 goals and registering 13 assists in the process.

There was recently been speculation surrounding the 29-year-old's future, with Bayern Munich believed to be interested in securing his signature this summer.

Meanwhile, there have been suggestions of interest from Saudi Arabia, with clubs from the Saudi Pro League thought to be considering making a move for him during the current market.

No deal: Ratcliffe identifies six 'unsellable' players at Man Utd

    © Reuters

Manchester United's new minority shareholder has allegedly made six members of the first-team squad at Old Trafford 'unsellable' during this summer's transfer window.

The summer market has now officially opened, and Man United allegedly made their first move on Friday, submitting a £35m offer for Jarrad Branthwaite, which is expected to be swiftly turned down by Everton.

The Red Devils are targeting a new centre-back, central midfielder and centre-forward this summer, while more players could arrive depending on the amount of money that can be raised through sales.

However, according to The Mirror, there are six players in the first-team squad that the 20-time English champions will not allow to leave under any circumstances.

Liverpool have contacted Premier League rivals Chelsea regarding the potential signing of 21-year-old Levi Colwill this summer, according to a report.

The Reds are gearing up for a new era under Arne Slot, with several players being linked to potential signings ahead of the 2024-25 season kickoff.

Club captain Virgil van Dijk's current contract at Anfield is set to expire at the end of next season, by which point he would have already turned 33 years of age.

With no confirmation of a contract extension for Van Dijk as yet, there has been speculation that the Dutchman could move on next season, with reports in recent weeks suggesting that clubs in Saudi Arabia are keeping tabs on the situation.

Manchester City will reject any offers for striker Julian Alvarez this summer amid ongoing interest from several big clubs across Europe including Chelsea, according to a report.

Alvarez completed his second season at City last term, scoring 19 goals for Pep Guardiola's team, which clinched a historic fourth consecutive Premier League title.

Throughout the season, the 24-year-old featured in 54 matches across all competitions, ranking as the eighth-highest outfield player at City in terms of total minutes played.

The Argentinian World Cup winner has been unable to displace Erling Haaland as the first-choice forward for the Citizens, sparking speculation that he may be open to a move elsewhere.

Arsenal could deal Man United transfer blow as 'contact' made over £50m deal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta pictured on April 23, 2024
    © Reuters

Arsenal have apparently taken the first step towards their maiden summer signing by making contact with Premier League rivals Everton over a deal for a £50m-rated midfielder.

The Gunners' search for a number six has led them to consider a swoop for Belgium international Amadou Onana, who has risen to prominence during his time in Ligue 1 and the Premier League.

Arriving at Goodison Park from the 2020-21 French champions two years ago, Onana has played an integral role in Everton's survival scraps, helping the Toffees to retain their perennial Premier League status.

The 22-year-old has registered four goals and three assists from 72 matches in an Everton jersey, including three strikes and one assist from 37 matches across all competitions in the 2023-24 campaign.

The 21-year-old played a crucial role in helping Ernesto Valverde's side secure a Europa League spot for next season, scoring eight goals and picking up an incredible 17 assists in 37 appearances.

The Spanish international is known for his versatility, capable of operating on both flanks and also slotting in as a centre forward.

According to Football Insider, Newcastle have been in touch with Tomori's agents to discuss what would be required to bring the Englishman to the club this summer.

How does Amadou Onana compare to Arsenal's current midfielders?

Everton's Amadou Onana celebrates after the match on February 19, 2024
    © Reuters

Arsenal have apparently taken the first step towards bolstering their ranks for the 2024-25 season, as a report from the Liverpool Echo claims that contact has been made over a move for Everton's Amadou Onana.

The Belgium international - currently away with his country at Euro 2024 - has already spoken of his desire to represent a distinguished European club at some point in the near future, and Arsenal certainly fit the bill.

Mikel Arteta is understood to have been an admirer of Onana's qualities for some time and is known to be chasing a new defensive midfield enforcer in the current window, but it could take around £50m to prise him away from Goodison Park.

Such a price tag should not prove too problematic for a club of Arsenal's calibre, though, and using data from FBRef from the 2023-24 Premier League season, Sports Mole analyses how Onana compares to Gunners trio Declan Rice, Thomas Partey and Jorginho.

Kroos replacement? Real Madrid-linked midfielder discusses future

    © Reuters

PSV Eindhoven midfielder Joey Veerman has played down suggestions that he could make the move to Real Madrid during this summer's transfer window.

Toni Kroos's retirement has led to claims that Los Blancos may bring in a new central midfielder ahead of the 2024-25 campaign, with Veerman thought to be a target.

However, the 25-year-old, who is currently with the Netherlands squad at Euro 2024, has played down the speculation lining him with a switch to the Spanish capital.

Veerman was in impressive form for PSV during the 2023-24 campaign, scoring seven goals and registering 19 assists in 41 appearances in all competitions.

Earlier this year, Man United's new minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe suggested that there could be a route for Greenwood back into the first team at Old Trafford.

However, he is widely expected to leave this summer, with a number of clubs, including Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, credited with an interest in his services.

Chadi Riad is relishing the opportunity to face the Premier League's most formidable opponents after becoming Crystal Palace's first signing of the summer transfer window.

The 20-year-old defender has put pen to paper on a five-year contract until June 2029 and joins the Eagles from La Liga giants Barcelona in a deal believed to be worth an initial £12m plus £2m in add-ons.

Riad made just one senior appearance during his time at Barca, but he established himself as a first-team regular on loan at Real Betis last season, starting 26 La Liga games for a side that secured a seventh-placed finish in the Spanish top flight.

Palace moved quickly to secure the services of the Morocco international, who has been described by chairman Steve Parish as "an exciting young player" who "adds quality to a squad already packed with talent and potential".
