Pep Guardiola shrugs off Jose Mourinho criticism

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola shrugs off criticism from Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho regarding the club's fly-on-the-wall documentary.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has shrugged off criticism from Manchester United counterpart Jose Mourinho regarding the club's new behind-the-scenes documentary.

A fly-on-the-wall series charting City's title-winning 2017-18 campaign was released earlier this week, with Mourinho claiming that it lacked class and was disrespectful to some of City's rivals.

However, Guardiola has insisted that no offence was intended throughout the film and stressed that the club only agreed to the deal for the benefit of themselves and their fans.

"That is true, you cannot buy class. I agree with Jose. We cannot buy class," Guardiola told reporters.

"I think we lived an amazing season with cameras. We did it for ourselves. I don't agree with Jose in terms of disrespectful. This was not our intention - it was filming last season.

"It is a club trying to grow, trying to win titles. We did it for ourselves and our fans to see what happens inside the locker room. It is Jose's opinion. Other guys will say, 'We like' and other guys will say, 'No'."

City have made a good start to the defence of their title too, running out 6-1 winners over Huddersfield Town this afternoon to make it two wins from two.
