Patrice Evra reveals that he is earning his coaching badges at Manchester United ahead of assuming a future role at the club.

Patrice Evra has revealed that he is earning his coaching badges at Manchester United ahead of assuming a future role at the club.

The Frenchman became a fan favourite at Old Trafford during a United career which spanned between 2006 and 2014, during which he claimed five Premier League titles and won the Champions League.

Evra, whose last club was West Ham United, confirmed over the summer that he had retired from football following a senior career lasting 20 years.

Speaking on the subject of his future, Evra told Sky Sports News: "I want to make it clear because people think I am already working for United, but no I am just doing my coaching badges.

"I am having some important talks behind the scenes so we will decide whether I work for the club in a certain role. The problem is I want to do everything, but in life you can't do everything.

"But yeah, a role where I can put my hands dirty. If I come back to the club, it's not just to put my face on it, it's because I want my club to go back to the best club in the world."

Evra spoke of how he was ready to join the fight to bring United back to their past fortunes following the club's 2-0 defeat to West Ham last month.

The former full-back was also pictured alongside United CEO Ed Woodward at the London Stadium during a 3-1 defeat in September 2018.
