Jose Mourinho stretches career-worst record against Jurgen Klopp

Jose Mourinho stretches his winless away run against Jurgen Klopp to six matches as Tottenham Hotspur lose to Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday evening.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho stretched his career-worst record against Jurgen Klopp in Spurs' defeat to Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday evening.

Mohamed Salah's deflected effort put Liverpool in front before Son Heung-min swiftly equalised, but Roberto Firmino's header ensured that Liverpool took all three points against their title rivals in front of the Anfield faithful.

Mourinho just cannot seem to get one over Klopp away from home, and Wednesday's 2-1 loss represented his sixth game at Klopp's turf without victory in all competitions.

A Mourinho side has drawn two and lost four against Klopp on unfamiliar territory, with the Liverpool boss being the manager he has tried and failed to beat away from home the most times in his career.

Furthermore, Salah's goal on the night means that he has now struck eight times against Spurs in all competitions, with Bournemouth and Watford being the only other teams in Europe that he boasts such a prolific tally against.

Liverpool opened up a three-point gap at the top of the table with victory on Merseyside, and the Reds will now face Crystal Palace before Spurs take on Leicester City this weekend.
