Faltering Felix 'green lights' transfer to one club, but 'obstacles' appear

The agent of Chelsea attacker Joao Felix is reportedly in contact with Galatasaray to discuss a potential summer transfer for his client.

The Portugal international has failed to rediscover his best form on loan at AC Milan, only managing one goal and one assist since joining the Rossoneri during the last knockings of the winter window.

At the same time, Felix does not appear to have a future with Chelsea, despite only re-joining the Blues permanently in the summer of 2024 and signing a seven-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

The 25-year-old could supposedly be offered an escape route by one Premier League club, but according to Turkish outlet Sporx, a switch to Galatasaray is also being discussed.

Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson is being eyed up by Fenerbahce boss Jose Mourinho for a summer transfer, according to a report.

The Brazil international is one of a handful of veteran Citizens stars who could be on the way out this summer, as Pep Guardiola prepares for a significant squad overhaul after a calamitous season.

Man City are still competing for the FA Cup and are now arguably the favourites to win the competition, but their Premier League reign is over as they lie fifth in the top-flight table.

The Citizens also suffered a gut-wrenching Champions League playoff exit to Real Madrid, where Ederson was in between the sticks both legs, but Stefan Ortega has started to make his claim for more frequent starts.

Barcelona devise 2026 transfer 'plan', and one player could hold the key

Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen was reportedly watched by officials from Barcelona during the recent round of UEFA Nations League matches.

The Netherlands international has now established himself as his country's number one goalkeeper and started both of the Netherlands' quarter-final clashes with Spain earlier this month.

Verbruggen did not enjoy his finest hours against the European champions, though, conceding five goals over the two legs before La Roja prevailed in a tense penalty shootout.

Verbruggen did manage to save a penalty from Lamine Yamal, though, and the 22-year-old could apparently be playing alongside the teenage phenom soon if reports are to be believed.

'Indispensable' Serie A attacker emerges as new Arsenal, Liverpool target

Lazio's Gustav Isaksen pictured on March 16, 2025

Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly among the clubs interested in signing rising Serie A star Gustav Isaksen during the summer transfer window.

Attacking changes could be afoot at all three clubs at the end of the 2024-25 season, where the indomitable Salah is still on course to leave Liverpool on a free transfer.

The Reds have supposedly now lost Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid, but they remain intent on tying Salah and fellow key cog Virgil van Dijk down to new deals when the campaign is over.

However, all of Federico Chiesa, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez have also been linked with exits from Anfield, while Arsenal will lose ex-Reds attacker and current Chelsea loanee Raheem Sterling this summer.

Liverpool have reportedly initiated contact with the entourage of Brighton & Hove Albion attacker Joao Pedro ahead of a possible transfer for the Brazilian in the summer window.

Reds fans have recently been rocked by the news that Trent Alexander-Arnold has apparently decided to join Real Madrid on a free transfer, and the right-back is one of three fundamental players who could soon depart for nothing.

Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah are also out of contract at the end of June, although there is more optimism about Liverpool's chances of keeping the duo, who have been critical to a Premier League title charge that will surely end in success.

Salah is on course to enjoy the best-ever individual Premier League season in terms of overall goal contributions, but while the winger has thrived, Arne Slot's centre-forwards have not.

The 26-year-old has made 27 appearances for Rayo, scoring twice and registering three assists in the process, proving to be one of the capital outfit's most impressive players this season.

Ratiu has a contract with Rayo until June 2028, but it is understood that the deal includes a release clause of €25m (£21m), with Real Madrid also believed to be interested.

"Jurgen was given that power": Who is to blame for Alexander-Arnold situation?

Jurgen Klopp was given significant power by Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group
© Imago

Liverpool's decision to provide Jurgen Klopp with more power contributed to the club's failure to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold to a new deal, Reds expert David Lynch has claimed.

Though the end of the 2024-25 season will likely see the Premier League return to Anfield, the campaign has arguably been overshadowed by speculation that Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Alexander-Arnold could leave the club for free upon the expiry of their contracts in the summer.

The latter has strongly been linked with a move to Real Madrid, and reports have emerged this week that the La Liga side are close to securing his signature.

Lynch told Sports Mole that he believes a number of parties are at fault for allowing this situation to develop, including previous boss Jurgen Klopp, saying: "The blame can can be shared out between a few people. It's a tough one because hindsight is always 20-20 but at the time that FSG decided to give more power around recruitment to Jurgen Klopp, there were benefits.

The 19-year-old was a relative unknown when Southampton were preparing for their first season back in the Premier League in August.

Since then, though, the youngster has arguably been the Saints' only positive of a dismal campaign having established himself as a key player despite his age.

The England international is currently on a season-long loan from Manchester United, Chelsea having the option to push through a permanent deal for a fee in the region of £25m.

However, Sancho contributing just two goals and four assists from 23 Premier League appearances has led to doubt emerging over whether that scenario will materialise.

As per widespread reports, Chelsea can pay United a penalty of £5m to send the 24-year-old back to Old Trafford should they wish to back out of their previous agreement.

Major blow for Arsenal as Real Madrid 'make move' to hijack £51m transfer

Real Madrid are reportedly 'well positioned' to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad during this summer's transfer window, with Arsenal handed a blow in their pursuit of the Spain international.

Zubimendi famously turned down the chance to make the move to Liverpool last year in favour of remaining with Real Sociedad, but this is expected to be the summer that he leaves the Basque outfit.

Earlier this year, it was reported that Arsenal had come to an agreement over a deal for the Spain international, but it is understood that is not the case, with the Gunners yet to secure his signature despite being in a strong position.

According to AS, Real Madrid want to sign a new central midfielder during this summer's transfer window, and Zubimendi is viewed as a leading target, having now proven himself at international level with Spain.

Aston Villa's priority on the pitch is to end the season with silverware and a place in next season's Champions League, either through winning this year's competition or through their Premier League position.

However, away from the pitch, club officials are monitoring the progress of a wide array of players who have been sent out on loan.

While some talent will be earmarked for opportunities in the senior squad at a later date, Villa's hierarchy will be hoping that others make such an impression that they receive lucrative offers in the summer to help bolster their position with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Here, Sports Mole provides an update on the 23 players who are at teams competing in the Premier League, EFL and abroad.

"My big worry" - What Arsenal must do to avoid Liverpool contract mistakes

Charles Watts/William Saliba composite image

Arsenal's new sporting director Andrea Berta must "dive headfirst" into the Gunners' latest round of contract renewals to avoid a Liverpool-type situation, Charles Watts has told Sports Mole.

The North London giants are soon expected to welcome ex-Atletico Madrid chief Berta to the club in time for the summer window, and the Italian will have more on his plate than just bringing in a couple of marquee signings.

Arsenal are said to be planning to open talks with Bukayo Saka over a new contract, while Ethan Nwaneri is supposedly in line for a new five-year deal, although both men are not due to become free agents until the summer of 2027.

Over at Liverpool, all of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold can leave for nothing at the end of the season, and with the latter now said to be on the verge of completing a switch to Real Madrid on a free transfer, Watts has expressed concern that Arsenal could be facing a repeat if Berta does not get to work straight away.

Aston Villa president of football options Monchi has suggested that he may consider an approach for Real Madrid playmaker Arda Guler.

The West Midlands outfit will enter the closing two months of the season still in the hunt for two pieces of silverware and Champions League qualification for 2025-26.

Their hopes of going further in this year's competition and winning the FA Cup have been helped by the high-profile acquisitions of Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford during the winter transfer window.

Given the success of those two deals, priority is expected to be given to getting permanent transfers over the line in due course, yet it appears that Monchi is monitoring Guler's situation at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Chelsea are allegedly ready to pay over the odds to try to win the race for an in-demand Bournemouth defender.

During the summer transfer window, the Cherries made some shrewd investments that were always likely to ensure that they avoid any kind of Premier League relegation battle.

However, few people anticipated Andoni Iraola's side being in the hunt for European qualification, Bournemouth only five points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea in the table.

On the flip side, though, their performances have only led to a number of their star players being targeted by higher-profile clubs, and they face a fight to retain their services in the short and long term.

Mainoo has a contract at Old Trafford until June 2027, with the option of a further 12 months, but there has recently been a host of speculation surrounding the 19-year-old's future.

Man United have thus far been unsuccessful in their attempts to sign the England international to a new deal, and it was recently claimed that the youngster is preparing to seek pastures new at the end of the campaign.

Mainoo is one of the lowest earners in the first-team squad at Old Trafford on approximately £20,000 a week, and it is understood that he is looking for around £180,000 a week to pen a new contract.

New contract 'agreed': Announcement 'imminent' over fresh Real Madrid deal

Real Madrid centre-back Raul Asencio has allegedly now signed a new long-term contract at Bernabeu.

The 22-year-old had not particularly been on Los Blancos head coach Carlo Ancelotti's radar last summer in terms of centre-back options for the 2024-25 campaign, but a number of factors have worked in his favour this term.

Long-term injuries for Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal, in addition to David Alaba's fitness problems, opened the door for Asencio to make his debut for Los Blancos in November 2024, and he has since gone from strength to strength.

Asencio has now made 30 appearances for the first team this season, keeping hold of his spot in the middle of the defence despite the return of Alaba to fitness.

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim is reportedly eyeing a reunion with Sporting Lisbon attacker Trincao this summer.

Trincao has previous experience of playing in England, representing Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan from Barcelona during the 2021-22 campaign, making 30 appearances for the club, including 28 outings in the Premier League.

The attacker found it difficult to make his mark at Molineux, only contributing three goals and one assist, but he has been in excellent form since moving to Lisbon, managing 32 goals and 29 assists in 143 appearances.

"It is a club that I like" - Man United centre-back open to return to former stomping ground

Victor Lindelof has suggested that he would be open to returning to Benfica when his Manchester United contract expires.

The Sweden international is in the final months of his deal at Old Trafford, with his terms due to expire on June 30, and it is highly unlikely that the Red Devils will be offering the experienced defender an extension.

The 30-year-old has been restricted to just 14 appearances this season, mainly due to injury problems, but he is also down the pecking order when head coach Ruben Amorim has a full set of centre-backs available.

Recent fitness problems in that area of the field have allowed Lindelof to start the team's last two Premier League games against Arsenal and Leicester City, and he has put in two strong performances in the middle of the defence.

Cambiaso? Kerkez? Robinson? "Absolute cert" among seven City full-back targets assessed

SM-EK City full-back targets composite

Manchester City expert Steven McInerney from Esteemed Kompany believes that Pep Guardiola's side should look to sign a new right-back and left-back in the summer transfer window.

After spending around £180m on four new signings in January, Man City will continue their much-needed squad rebuild in the summer, one to be led by incoming sporting director Hugo Viana who is expected to target younger players to address the age profile of Guardiola's current squad.

A number of high-profile players could leave the club as part of City's "brutal" rebuild, including 34-year-old right-back Kyle Walker, who is currently on loan at AC Milan but is expected to depart permanently in the summer.

Pundit Don Goodman has tipped Ipswich Town to make a move for Peterborough United winger Kwame Poku should they be relegated to the Championship.

The Tractor Boys were beaten 4-2 by Nottingham Forest on March 15 and entered the March international break third last in 18th place in the Premier League with just 17 points after 29 matchweeks.

Kieran McKenna's side are nine points from 17th-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers, who they play on April 5, and relegation looks almost certain.

The Blues boss will hope his side can bounce immediately back to the top flight in the event of relegation, and pundit Goodman has claimed that they could look to sign Peterborough forward Poku to help them do so, telling Football League World: "If you're Burnley, Southampton or Ipswich [they could sign Poku]. It's obviously going to depend on which players stay and which players leave.

Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo has reportedly attracted interest from Eintracht Frankfurt over a potential summer move.

The 32-year-old has seen his playing time greatly reduced this season, and that could drop even further with no more domestic cup action on Liverpool's calendar this season.

Endo featured prominently in Liverpool's run to the EFL Cup final, starting in the wins over West Ham United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Southampton.

However, he was only a substitute in both legs of the semi-final against Tottenham Hotspur, and he was not used at all in the defeat to Newcastle United in the final last week.
