Agent: 'Andreas Christensen to seek Chelsea exit'

Andreas Christensen will leave Chelsea in January unless he receives regular playing time over the next few months, says his father and agent Sten Christensen.

Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen will leave Stamford Bridge in January unless he receives regular playing time over the next few months, according to his father and agent Sten Christensen.

Christensen, 22, made 40 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea during the 2018-19 campaign.

The Denmark international has not made a single Premier League appearance for the Blues this term, however, with David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger both ahead of him in the pecking order.

Christensen's father, who is also his agent, has said that the defender will leave permanently in January unless the situation changes.

"If his situation doesn't change by Christmas, we'll have a chat with Chelsea and say, 'okay, what can we do for him? Could he play somewhere else?' I'm not thinking another loan," Sten Christensen told TV3 Sport Denmark.

"It's Chelsea or else he has to find another club. A loan spell would not be the best solution for Andreas. It's one or the other. Too many of Chelsea's players go out on loan when they don't need them. Andreas should not get stuck in that.

"I believe that we will try to relocate Andreas come winter, if nothing has happened by Christmas, if he is not playing. But I'm not sure Chelsea will let him go. That is maybe not a problem as Chelsea are a fantastic club and Andreas loves London. But he is not happy with his situation on the pitch."

Christensen has made 46 first-team appearances for Chelsea.
