Barcelona are reportedly struggling to pay their players' wages during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the club set to make further cuts during the current economic climate.

Barcelona have reportedly struggled with the high salaries of their players during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The players' wages currently make up 63% of the club's €1.047bn (£935m) budget, costing the Catalan giants €630m (£563m) a year.

However, according to Marca, the Spanish champions are set to lose around €200m (£178.7m) due to the coronavirus crisis, meaning the wages will now make up a higher percentage of the club's earnings.

Barca will now have to cut the costs within their squad further, despite the first-team players already agreeing to a 70% pay cut.

Offloading players will also prove a problem for the Catalan club this summer, with other teams unable to pay the hefty wages of players including Samuel Umtiti, Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic.
