Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill is facing a defensive headache ahead of tomorrow's trip to Wigan Athletic.
He is likely to be without the services of Phil Bardsley and Titus Bramble, while Wes Brown will undergo a late fitness test after he picked up a groin injury against Manchester City on Sunday.
As a result, Craig Gardner and Jack Colback may continue to deputise in the full-back positions.
Hosts Wigan will be without skipper Gary Caldwell, who is serving a one-match suspension.
