Roberto Martinez praises Wigan Athletic character

Roberto Martinez has heaped praise upon his Wigan Athletic players following their 2-2 draw with Stoke City this afternoon.

Visiting Wigan had Gary Galdwell sent off at the Britannia Stadium but still managed to claim a share of the spoils courtesy of a late penalty from substitute Ben Watson.

"We showed unbelievable character," Martinez told BBC Sport. "We defended really well and then, to go down to ten men and get back to level terms, was the least we deserved."

Wigan move up to 18th in the Premier League table with the draw.
