West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce thinks that his side will need to be "lucky" in order to defeat Manchester United tonight.

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce believes that his side will need a slice of luck to get a result against Manchester United this evening.

The two sides go head to head at Old Trafford and Allardyce has urged his players to take advantage of the Red Devils if they are playing "below par".

"Historically you've got to be one of the lucky ones when you go to Old Trafford and win," said Allardyce. "If you look at their track record at home they only lose once or twice all season.

"If you're going to win at Old Trafford, if it's your time and your turn, it has to be a moment where your team plays in every position to its best and takes advantage of a below-par Manchester United."

West Ham currently sit eighth in the Premier League table, while United reside in the top spot.
