Alberto Aquilani has claimed that he is excited to be returning to Liverpool after a season’s loan spell at Juventus.
The midfielder has not been offered a permanent place at the Serie A club, although he did receive interest from competitors Napoli and AC Milan.
“I return to Liverpool with great enthusiasm,” he told Sky Italia. “This is not a problem. It’s not true that I didn’t want to return to England.”
The 26-year-old joined the Reds from Roma in 2009 for £20m. His contract runs until 2014.
