Liverpool are reportedly set to face competition from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur in their pursuit to sign Brondby centre forward Yuito Suzuki this summer.

Liverpool are reportedly set to face competition from Tottenham Hotspur, among other Premier League clubs, in their pursuit to sign Brondby centre forward Yuito Suzuki this summer.

The Japanese youth international has emerged as one of the most promising talents in the Danish top flight, attracting attention from several top European clubs, including Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester City and Manchester United, who are all monitoring the 22-year-old closely.

The 22-year-old attacker has scored 10 goals and provided seven assists in 25 appearances for the Copenhagen outfit, catching the attention of several prominent clubs with his performances.

Liverpool and Tottenham to battle for Suzuki signature

According to Bold.dk, Liverpool, who are set to bid farewell to Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season, are among the frontrunners to secure the talented attacker's signature in the summer, but claim the Reds are now likely to face competition from Premier League rivals Tottenham.

The report adds that Brondby are asking for a fee of around £20m to consider parting ways with their in-form attacker.

Should the club receive their asking price for the 22-year-old, they will make a significant profit on the sale, having signed him for less than £1m last summer.

Spurs have been heavily reliant on the likes of Son Heung-min and James Maddison to provide goals and creativity and it is understood they are considering a move for Suzuki, who will bolster their attacking options, adding more depth and quality to the side.

Spurs' scouts were in attendance to watch the former Shimizu S-Pulse forward score a brace, leading Brondby to a 2-1 victory over FC Midtjylland last month.

Suzuki's remarkable rise garners PL clubs' interest

Suzuki initially caught attention in his native Japan while playing at high school level and was subsequently recruited by J1 League club Shimizu S-Pulse.

After performing well in the J1 League, French side Strasbourg took a chance on the youngster, loaning him with an option to buy in 2023.

However, he struggled to make an impact in Ligue 1 and returned to Shimizu after making just three appearances for Strasbourg's first team.

Despite this, the attacker soon headed back to Europe, signing for Brondby on a four-year deal, and he has improved massively during his time in Denmark.

Suzuki's current contract with the Danish outfit runs until the summer of 2027, but they may struggle to keep hold of their star forward if the Premier League giants table a solid offer for him.
