Liverpool are reportedly fearful that Ibrahima Konate has decided to run his contract down in order to secure a move to Real Madrid.

The Reds will take on Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday in their penultimate Premier League match of the 2024-25 campaign, though the game will have no consequences for the Merseysiders given they have already won the title.

Boss Arne Slot could look to give right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold minutes on Monday as a farewell, with the defender confirming his intention to leave the club in the summer.

Alexander-Arnold's contract is set to expire at the end of the season amid interest from Real Madrid, and the lack of a transfer fee could impact the team's plans for what could be a busy transfer window.

Juventus have allegedly pulled out of contract talks with Dusan Vlahovic and will open the floor to bids for the Serbia international during the summer transfer window.

Vlahovic has contributed 14 goals and five assists from 39 matches this season, but he is on a seven-game scoring drought in Serie A, where Juventus lie fourth in the standings.

Igor Tudor's side are currently on course to qualify for the Champions League, but there is a risk that they drop out of the coveted positions in the final two gameweeks, which could force them to consider sales.

Liverpool and Napoli are reportedly in advanced talks over a loan deal for Federico Chiesa, but the two clubs must solve one key issue in negotiations.

The former Juventus man was viewed as one of the bargains of the summer transfer window when he joined the Reds for just £10.3m, but his first year in English football has been one to forget.

Chiesa will end the season with a Premier League winners' medal, but he has not started a single top-flight match and has made just 13 appearances in total, producing two goals and two assists.

Head coach Arne Slot has been happy to rotate in the final few weeks with the Premier League title wrapped up, but the Italy international was not even named in the squad for last weekend's 2-2 draw with Arsenal.

Frimpong was quickly identified as Liverpool's number one replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who rejected the chance to sign a new deal in favour of joining Real Madrid on a free transfer.

Arne Slot is blessed with a capable deputy in the shape of Conor Bradley, who signed a new long-term deal at Anfield on Saturday, but the Northern Ireland international has not been deemed ready for the first-choice role.

Instead, Liverpool felt that the opportunity to sign Frimpong for just €35m (£29.4m) due to a release clause in his contract was too good to pass up, and they quickly prioritised the signing of the former Celtic man.
