Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly one of three Premier League clubs who are interested in providing a Premier League return to a Serie A player.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly identified a Serie A player formerly of several Premier League clubs as a potential summer transfer target.

The West Midlands outfit are currently bidding to end the Premier League campaign on a high having recently secured their top-flight status for another 12 months.

However, with Matheus Cunha likely to leave in a £62.5m deal, Vitor Pereira is expected to have funds at his disposal to make several notable additions to his squad.

Finding a replacement for Cunha and competition for Jorgen Strand Larsen will be high on his agenda and it appears there are admiring glances at a player who has been plying his trade at San Siro.

As per journalist Daniele Longo of Calciomercato, Wolves are one of three teams who hold an interest in Tammy Abraham.

Premier League return in offing?

The 27-year-old has spent the season on loan at AC Milan where he has contributed five goals and five assists in 14 starts and 23 substitute outings in Serie A and the Champions League.

Abraham is now in line to return to parent club Roma at the end of the season, but it is alleged that a departure from Stadio Olimpico is likely.

Although there are two years remaining on his contract, Roma are seemingly ready to cash in on the England international during the summer transfer window.

With the report suggesting that Abraham's reputation in Italy has dropped despite his 29 goals and 14 assist from 112 outings in the division, a Premier League return has been predicted.

He last played in England's top flight during the 2020-21 campaign before departing Chelsea.

Who else is interested?

The report alleges that West Ham United are currently viewed as the frontrunners for Abraham's signature as they bid to secure the services of a new number nine.

Everton have also been credited as admirers, yet the suggestion is that a move to a 'top-tier club' would be the player's preference.

Location-wise, Abraham has previously spent time in London and the Midlands, something that can only boost the hopes of West Ham and Wolves.
