Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie have both been included in Manchester United's starting XI for today's Premier League clash against Everton at Old Trafford.

With a trip to Real Madrid coming up in the last 16 of the Champions League on Wednesday evening, many had expected manager Sir Alex Ferguson to rest the duo, who have scored 35 club goals between them this season.

Michael Carrick is on the bench for the Red Devils, while Rio Ferdinand does not feature at all.

The Toffees make just one change following their 3-3 draw against Aston Villa, as Phil Neville returns in place of John Heitinga.
