Manchester City will consult Liverpool and Manchester United over safety plans ahead of their Champions League trip to Napoli on November 22.
Fans of both sides have been subject to violent attacks from Italian supporters in recent years, and City want to give as much guidance as possible to their own fans.
Six Bayern Munich supporters were stabbed outside of the Stadio San Paolo last month.
The Blues have reportedly dispatched security staff to the southern city to learn more about the culture of Napoli's violent fans, known as Ultras.
Around 3,000 Manchester City supporters are expected to attend the game later this month.
