Good morning, and welcome to today's transfer blog! As already stated, there's plenty of live football action coming your way on Sports Mole today, including the Community Shield and Liverpool's Anfield friendly with Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, but that doesn't mean to say that clubs won't be busy shuffling their squads!

Before I bring you any news, why don't you check out a roundup of the latest transfer stories that you may have missed throughout the night in our 8am Transfer Talk Update, which includes stories such as these:

Southampton complete Fraser Forster signing
Arsenal enter Mats Hummels race?
Napoli target Daniel Agger swoop?
Manchester United 'to launch Daley Blind bid in next 48 hours'

How about this for a bit of mystic intrigue - Liverpool's Lucas Leiva has posted a picture to his Instagram account of a light at the end of a tunnel. Could he be referring to a move to Napoli?

Newcastle United have been incredibly busy this summer and have already made nine signings, but Alan Pardew seemingly isn't finished. Reports suggest that he is ready to launch a £7m bid to bring Manchester winger Wilfried Zaha to the north east.

DONE DEAL! News from the continent now, as Stuttgart have completed a deal to bring Groningen winger Filip Kostic to Germany. The 21-year-old winger scored 11 goals from a wide position last year, which is not a bad return.

Sunderland may well have missed out on Liverpool's Fabio Borini, but reports suggest that Gus Poyet wants to bring in Tottenham Hotspur's Nacir Chadli to bolster his attacking options.

Another winger who could be on the move is Arsenal's Serge Gnabry. With Alexis Sanchez now at the Emirates, the youngster could see his opportunities limited, but Crystal Palace, Southampton and Newcastle are all thought to be keen on the 19-year-old.

DONE DEAL! Ibrahim Affelay has suffered a tortuous reign at Barcelona since his arrival in 2011, making just 35 appearances for the Camp Nou outfit. However, he has joined Greek side Olympiakos on a season-long loan deal in the hope of more regular first-team football.

Thomas Vermaelen has put pen to paper on a five-year contract with Barcelona this morning. It was announced yesterday that a transfer had been agreed between the two clubs.

DONE DEAL! Little known Benfica playmaker Bernardo Silva has joined big-spenders Monaco on a season-long loan. The 20-year-old has played just 10 minutes of first team football, but he's said that he'll "work hard to help the team win trophies".

That's all from me for now, but this live blog will continue right throughout today, so make sure to keep checking back while you follow Liverpool's clash with Borussia Dortmund and the Community Shield showdown at Wembley, which will both be covered here on Sports Mole this afternoon.

Afternoon all - Liam Apicella here. Shortly, I'll be bringing you story of a Premier League striker that could soon be joining a Championship club. Stay tuned...

The centre-forward in question is Leicester City's Chris Wood. A report has claimed that Wolverhampton Wanderers have had a bid accepted for the New Zealand international, with talks expected to take place in the near future.

Staying with strikers - namely Javier Hernandez. The Mexican is thought to have been deemed surplus to requirements at Manchester United, but according to the Sunday People, he has no interest in signing for Southampton, who are keen on his services. It's believed that Hernandez is holding out for a switch to either Inter Milan or Atletico Madrid, while Juventus are also thought to be interested.

And that is my brief stint on the blog over for today. Now, I'll be passing you over to Jack Poland. All yours, Jack.

Hi everyone, Matt Law here to lead you through the next hour. So what is the latest then? Check back in little under five minutes for our 2pm transfer update.

With the summer transfer window gathering pace with each passing moment, Sports Mole has taken a look at the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Have a look at the 2pm update here.

The father of Radamel Falcao has admitted that his son could leave Monaco this summer. The Colombian striker has been strongly linked with a loan move to the Premier League in recent weeks, in addition to a transfer to Real Madrid. Monaco are reportedly unprepared to lose the former Atletico Madrid attacker, but Falcao Sr. has added fuel to the fire. "I can't rule out that my son might leave," said Radamel Falcao Sr. "But the only thing I can say is that, for now, he has a contract with Monaco."

Moving to France to Holland and PSV Eindhoven have reportedly joined Ajax in the race to sign former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o this summer.

Back to England, where Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has name dropped Real Madrid winger Angel di Maria as speculation surrounding the Argentine continues to grow.

Right, that is just about it from me this afternoon. However, be sure to remain with us as I pass the baton onto Daniel Lewis for the next four hours. Over to you, Daniel.

Chris Brunt has this afternoon signed a new three-year contract at West Bromwich Albion to fend off speculation linking him with a move away from The Hawthorns this summer.

In case you missed it, earlier today we brought you more on one of the transfer stories that just keeps on running this summer - Angel di Maria's potential move to Manchester United. Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal name dropped the Real Madrid star, saying that his side do not have a winger of his quality. Click here to read his comments in full.

So far this summer Barcelona have recruited Luis Suarez, Ivan Rakitic, Claudio Bravo, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Jeremy Mathieu and Thomas Vermaelen. They could still further strengthen their squad however, after sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta refused to rule out any more movement.

Before I hand over to Sian Cowper, I'll point you in the direction of Sports Mole's roundup of all the day's big transfer stories - including potential moves for Radamel Falcao, Angel di Maria and Samuel Eto'. All that and more can be found by clicking here.

Thanks Daniel. Firstly this evening, let's update on a story we brought you this morning. Leicester City striker Chris Wood is believed to be on his way back to the Championship following interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Manager Kenny Jackett has confirmed that Wolves have made an enquiry for the New Zealand international.

Chelsea winger Marko Marin has made just six appearances for the Stamford Bridge side since joining them in 2012, and it looks like he's heading out on loan again this season. The latest reports suggest that the German has agreed a season-long move to Fiorentina.

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger is believed to be a transfer target for Napoli. However, the club's manager, Brendan Rodgers, has insisted that they are yet to receive any offers for him.

Adel Taarabt had a loan spell at AC Milan last season after falling out of favour at Queens Park Rangers, and it looks like he could be on the verge of returning to the Serie A side on a permanent basis. According to reports in the Italian media, the Rossoneri have made a £3m bid for the Morocco international, and will meet with his agent on Tuesday.

Sunderland have already had a relatively busy transfer window, completing five new signings. However, manager Gus Poyet has revealed that he is confident of bringing in more new faces in time for their first match of the new Premier League season next Saturday.

Well that's all from me tonight, but Alex Meyers will be here to continue our Transfer Talk coverage for the next three hours.

Thanks Sian! I'll begin with the news that Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars has claimed that Samuel Eto'o is keen on a move to the club. The Cameroon international was released by Chelsea at the end of last season and is currently available on a free transfer.

A new report today has claimed that Sunderland have made an offer for Brighton & Hove Albion winger Will Buckley. It is believed that the Black Cats have bid £2.5m for the player, but his club are thought to want closer to £3m.

Swansea City manager Garry Monk has admitted that Jonathan de Guzman is unlikely to return to the club. The Dutchman spent the past two seasons on loan at the Swans, but he has yet to make a decision over his future.

That's all we've got time for this evening. Please stay with us throughout the night for the latest news and gossip, but until next time, goodbye!
