Rafael Benitez tips Liverpool to finish in top four ahead of Manchester United

Rafael Benitez believes that Liverpool will finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season at the expense of rivals Manchester United.

Napoli manager Rafael Benitez believes that his former club Liverpool will finish in the top four at the expense of Manchester United.

The Reds currently sit fourth in the standings after 21 games, which leaves them six points adrift of leaders Arsenal.

Due to the fact that Liverpool are not competing in any European competitions this year, Benitez believes that they have an advantage over their rivals.

"I think it will be the season when my old club Liverpool will finish in the top four, and get back to experiencing the great Anfield Champions League nights which were very special to me," Benitez wrote in The Independent.

"I think there will be a changing of places because Liverpool coming fourth will mean Manchester United finishing outside of the Champions League.

"It is hard to talk confidently about these things in a crazy British season, of course, but Liverpool will have one important advantage when January is over. That is time."

Chelsea and Manchester City make up the top four of the table.
