Martin O'Neill tells Sunderland to focus ahead of their trip to Manchester City.

Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill has told his team to focus ahead of their final eight games of the season, starting at Manchester City.

The Blacks Cats boss, whose side were eliminated from the FA Cup in midweek, insists that the season isn't over and that there are still several points to be won despite a number of "tough" games ahead.

"There are points on the board to be won," he said. "Now it's a general case of people picking each other up and forging ahead.

"We have a couple more tough games. If we're not focused then we will suffer. We've reached 40 points and now we want to push on.

"City's record is absolutely incredible. It's a difficult game for us."

Sunderland are currently in eighth place in the Premier League.
