Arsene Wenger warns Roy Hodgson over Harry Kane's international future

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger warns that Tottenham star Harry Kane could represent another country if Roy Hodgson does not hand him his senior England debut soon.

Arsene Wenger has urged England boss Roy Hodgson to hand Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane his senior international debut before it is too late.

The 21-year-old added two more goals to his growing collection in yesterday's North London derby victory against Arsenal at White Hart Lane, taking his tally in a Spurs shirt to 22 in 34 games this campaign.

However, the timing of England's fixtures means that the youngster has not yet been given the chance to test himself in the national squad.

Kane could also represent Republic of Ireland due to his father's roots, and Wenger was quick to remind Hodgson that he needs to tie the player down before it is too late.

"When you have scored the number of goals he has scored, if you don't put him in there, someone will give him a passport from another country," he told reporters after seeing the former Leicester City loanee down his side in a 2-1 reverse.

Hodgson was in attendance at Saturday's match, although Kane soon played down any talk of a senior call-up.
