Marcos Rojo 'in talks over Manchester United exit'

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo reportedly holds talks with Boca Juniors over a potential move, but a deal is a long way from being finalised.

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has reportedly held initial talks with Boca Juniors after entering the final six months of his Old Trafford deal.

The Argentina international is yet to turn out for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side this season and only made one appearance for the Under-23s team before his calf injury flared up again.

Moreover, with Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire all above Rojo in the United pecking order, he is expected to move on when his contract runs out in the summer.

According to the Daily Mail, Boca Juniors have touched base with the centre-back over a potential deal, although it is very early days and United have not received an official bid yet.

The report adds that Sheffield United and Newcastle United are also keeping a close eye on developments, but Rojo would welcome a return to Argentina after spending the second half of last season on loan at Estudiantes.

The 30-year-old has won one Europa League trophy, one FA Cup and one EFL Cup during his six-and-a-half years at Old Trafford, scoring two goals in 122 appearances for the Red Devils.
