Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is reportedly fearful that he will miss up to a month with the ankle injury he sustained against Manchester United at Wembley.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane reportedly fears that he could miss up to a month with the ankle injury he sustained against Manchester United on Sunday.

The England international picked up the problem towards the end of his side's 1-0 defeat at Wembley and limped off the pitch after the full-time whistle.

Spurs have so far been unable to ascertain the full extent of the damage due to the swelling around his ankle, which has prevented them from scanning the joint.

However, The Guardian reports that Kane could miss a month of action having also suffered ankle injuries in each of the last three years.

Such an absence would see the 25-year-old miss the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final against Chelsea, in addition to their FA Cup fourth-round clash with Crystal Palace and as many as four Premier League games.

Kane would also be a doubt for the first leg of Tottenham's Champions League last-16 match against Borussia Dortmund, which takes place on February 13.

The injury comes at an inopportune moment for Spurs given that Son Heung-min could also be unavailable until the end of January, having joined up with South Korea at the Asian Cup.

Kane has scored 20 goals in 31 appearances for Tottenham across all competitions this season.
