Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti rubbishes James Rodriguez exit rumours

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti insists that James Rodriguez is happy at the club following reports from Spain claiming that the playmaker was seeking an exit.

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has dismissed reports claiming that James Rodriguez is unhappy with life on Merseyside.

The Colombia international made an immediate impression at Goodison Park at the beginning of the season, although he has since struggled with injuries and his goal contributions have slowed down in recent weeks.

Reports in Spain speculated that Rodriguez had started to grow frustrated with life in the Premier League and England in general, but Ancelotti has insisted that there is no issue with the playmaker.

Speaking to reporters, the Toffees manager said: "Oh, he's okay, he has no problem. I talk to him every day, he's happy here. He's confident, motivated.

"He had a little problem in the last few games with his calf, but now he's in a good condition. He really feels good here because everyone takes care of him and that's it.

"I don't know if he complains about the weather, but we know it's not the best weather ever! But there are a lot of things good in this area."

Rodriguez provided the assist for Richarlison's opener in Everton's historic 2-0 win at Liverpool on Saturday evening, and he boasts five goals and four assists in the Premier League this season.
