Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has revealed that he had a 'point to prove' against his former club Chelsea on Sunday.
The 23-year-old has admitted that anger with the Blues pushed him to net an equaliser when he came on as a substitute during Liverpool's 2-2 draw at Anfield.
"I was disappointed not to start because the manager would have known I was a bit angry with Chelsea and wanted to prove a point against them," Sturridge told the club's official website.
"It was strange playing against them because I only left three months ago so I kind of knew their weaknesses and what their team was all about. I was itching to get on and the team performed well in the second half."
Sturridge has netted six goals in 12 appearances since joining the Merseyside outfit in January.
