Mauricio Pochettino hints at Chelsea signings

Mauricio Pochettino says that Southampton may look to sign some Chelsea players, rather than offload Luke Shaw to Stamford Bridge.

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has hinted that he could sign some Chelsea players during the summer's transfer window.

The Blues have long been linked with Saints left-back Luke Shaw, with 17-year-old earning widespread praise for his performances in the Premier League this season.

However, the South Coast boss insists that he could raid Stamford Bridge for off-season arrivals rather than just sell his key players.

When asked if there was any truth in the speculation linking Shaw with a move to Chelsea, Pochettino responded: "Perhaps we will go and get some Chelsea players ourselves.

"I think that [executive chairman] Nicola Cortese staying is the best possible news for next season.

"That is very good for the squad, for the whole club. We will talk about the summer and the budgets with Nicola."

Southampton finished the season with a 1-1 draw at home to Stoke City on Sunday.
