Sunday's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup: Declan Rice, Erling Braut Haaland, David Alaba

Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Manchester United on Sunday, December 27.

A frustrating summer transfer window has now closed with Manchester United having missed out on a number of their top targets, including Jadon Sancho.

The Red Devils were busy on deadline day, though, bringing in Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles and Facundo Pellistri, in addition to agreeing a deal to sign Amad Traore in January. Attention will now switch to other business they may do when the window reopens in the winter.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Old Trafford.

Sunday morning's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup:

Chelsea to offload seven players to fund two signings?

Chelsea are reportedly keen to offload as many as seven players as they eye moves for Declan Rice and Erling Braut Haaland.

Speculation surrounding Rice's future has intensified in recent weeks, with the West Ham United man thought to be a target for the Blues and Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund striker Haaland has reportedly been identified by Frank Lampard as a priority for 2021, although the 20-year-old is understood to be on the radar of several top European sides such as Real Madrid and Manchester City.

Chelsea made several high-profile acquisitions in the summer transfer market, and according to Sky Italia, the Blues have listed seven players as potential outgoings for next year.

Antonio Rudiger, Jorginho, Marcos Alonso, Danny Drinkwater, Ross Barkley, Andreas Christensen and Victor Moses are reportedly all set to be transfer-listed by Chelsea as they look to fund moves for Rice and Haaland.

Alonso, who has been frozen out of the team in recent months, is said to be a transfer target for Atletico Madrid.

Erling Braut Haaland 'becomes Chelsea's top target'

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has reportedly identified Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Braut Haaland as his top transfer target for 2021.

While Haaland is currently nearing the end of his first year at the Westfalenstadion, there are a number of release clauses which can be activated in his contract at a later date.

Despite the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic, several top European clubs are expected to eventually move for a player who has scored 33 goals from 32 appearances for Dortmund.

According to Sky Italia, Lampard has asked club officials to prioritise a move for the 20-year-old at the end of the season.

Chelsea are likely to be in the market for a replacement for Olivier Giroud, who turned 34 in September and has just six months left on his contract.

Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have also been suggested as potential destinations for Haaland.
