Bournemouth vs Leeds - prediction, team news, lineups

Eyeing up a sixth successive victory in all competitions, high-flying Bournemouth welcome Leeds United to the Vitality Stadium for a Premier League clash on Saturday.

The Cherries and the Whites played out two 2-2 draws last season, with Sean Longstaff netting a dramatic 97th-minute equaliser for the latter in their most recent encounter on the South Coast in April.

Match preview

Bournemouth experienced a difficult start to life under new head coach Marco Rose, but they have certainly found their groove over the last two weeks, winning each of their last five matches across three different competitions by an impressive aggregate score of 14-0.

Within a six-day period, Cherries supporters have seen their side beat Italian giants AC Milan in the Europa League, Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League and Aston Villa in the EFL Cup fourth round, all by the same 3-0 scoreline.

Despite making eight changes on Wednesday, Bournemouth’s momentum showed no signs of slowing down as they breeze passed an equally-rotates Villa side on home soil, with goals from Amine Adli, Lewis Cook and Alvaro Rodriguez setting up an EFL Cup quarter-final tie with Andoni Iraola’s Liverpool.

Having previously failed to win their opening six Premier League games this season, back-to-back successes has propelled Bournemouth up to 13th in the table, only two points behind Saturday’s opponents Leeds in seventh spot.

Bournemouth are now bidding to win three Premier League matches in a row without conceding for the very first time this weekend, though securing maximum points is not a given as they have posted only two wins in their last 11 top-flight home games (D8 L1).

Since putting Newcastle to the sword 4-1 at Elland Road on September 14, Leeds have failed to win any of their last four Premier League games (D3 L1), including a goalless stalemate at basement club Sunderland on a blustery evening last Sunday.

Only Brentford have drawn as many PL matches as Leeds (five) after eight games this term, while the Whites and the Bees have played out the joint-most draws of any top-flight team this calendar year (both 14). Furthermore, Leeds’ five 0-0 draws are the outright most in 2026.

Head coach Daniel Farke is expecting a “tough game” against in-form Bournemouth this weekend, but he believes that his Leeds side can pose a threat to any team in the division if they “hold a high intensity” across the 90 minutes and deliver a "relentless" performance.

Leeds have particularly impressed from a defensive perspective so far this season, with only champions Arsenal (five) conceding fewer Premier League goals than the Whites (six), while summer signing James Trafford boasts the highest save percentage in the division (82.4%) and the second-highest number of saves (30).

The West Yorkshire outfit head into Saturday’s contest seeking to win their first top-flight away match since the opening weekend of the season (1-0 at Nottingham Forest in August), while they last won at Bournemouth in a league game in September 2014 (3-1 in the Championship).

Team News

Bournemouth trio Alex Scott (thigh), Alex Toth (thigh) and Julian Araujo all remain sidelined with thigh injuries, while Veljko Milosavljevic (knee) will be assessed after representing the Under-21s earlier this week.

Last season’s top scorer Eli Junior Kroupi is available for selection following a lengthy spell out injured, but he not yet ready to start in attack, so Evanilson – who has scored four goals in his last five games – will continue to lead the line.

Marcus Tavernier, Justin Kluivert and Rayan are all expected to provide support in attack, while former Leeds midfielder Lewis Cook will hope to retain his starting spot alongside either Ryan Christie or Tyler Adams.

As for Leeds, Mateo Joseph (knee) and Joe Rodon (hamstring) both remain out, while Anton Stach is “struggling” with a foot problem and will be assessed ahead of kickoff.

However, Nico Elvedi has recovered from illness and will push for a start at centre-back alongside Tarik Muharemovic and James Justin, potentially taking the place of Jaka Bijol.

Noah Okafor should be fit to start in attack alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has failed to score in his last three visits to the Vitality Stadium, while Harry Wilson may get the nod to start in an advanced role if Stach misses out.

Bournemouth possible starting lineup:

Petrovic; Smith, Hill, Silva, Truffert; Adams, Cook; Rayan, Kluivert, Tavernier; Evanilson

Leeds United possible starting lineup:

Trafford; Justin, Elvedi, Muharemovic; Bogle, Ampadu, Tanaka, Gudmundsson; Wilson, Okafor; Calvert-Lewin

We say: Bournemouth 2-1 Leeds United

An average of five goals have been scored across the last four Premier League battles between Bournemouth and Leeds (20 in total), so an entertaining contest could be in store on the South Coast.

The Cherries (13) and the Whites (14) have made a habit of drawing games in 2026, but we are backing the hosts to build on their positive momentum and edge to a narrow victory.
