Preview: Burnley vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Monday's Premier League clash between Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Burnley play host to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday evening looking to extend their unbeaten record in the Premier League to four matches.

Meanwhile, Wolves make the trip to Turf Moor on the back of a 2-1 victory over Chelsea, a result which ended a run of two straight defeats.

There have been times this season when Burnley have looked completely out of their depth, form which was not helped by a lack of summer investment.

However, not for the first time during his Clarets reign, Sean Dyche has instigated a change of fortune for a club which is currently in a period of uncertainty due to takeover speculation.

Nine of their 10 points this season have been collected from their last half a dozen fixtures, the only defeat coming at the hands of Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Since that 5-0 drubbing, Burnley have conceded just once during a triple-header with Everton, Arsenal and Aston Villa, a run which has seen them earn five points.

While Dyche has called for more goals from his Burnley attack, they head into their next fixture having not conceded in five halves of football at the other end.

As far as Wolves are concerned, their 2-1 comeback triumph over Chelsea has eased the pressure on a side which has been lacking a cutting edge in the final third.

Fabio Silva is still looking for his first goal in the Premier League after being thrust into the limelight as a replacement for the injured Raul Jimenez.

However, there are signs that the Portuguese prospect can act as a suitable foil to compatriots Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence, who are carrying Wolves' hopes in the final third.

Nuno Espirito Santo will feel that there is far more to come from a group of players which are in transition, and the club's head coach will be desperate for another maximum haul with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United to come before the end of the year.

Team News

Nuno will be able to call upon Joao Moutinho, who has served the one-match ban for his sending-off against Villa.

Moutinho is expected to take the place of Leander Dendoncker after the Belgian sustained a fitness issue in the following game versus Chelsea.

After his lively outing as a substitute in the match with the Blues, Adama Traore could get the nod over Silva.

Burnley boss Dyche will stick with much of the team which earned a goalless draw at Villa Park.

Ashley Barnes and Jay Rodriguez are competing for one spot in attack alongside Chris Wood.

Burnley possible starting lineup:
Pope; Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor; Brady, Westwood, Brownhill, McNeil; Barnes, Wood

Wolverhampton Wanderers possible starting lineup:
Patricio; Boly, Coady, Saiss; Semedo, Moutinho, Neves, Marcal; Traore, Podence, Neto

We say: Burnley 1-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Last season's corresponding fixture in the summer proved to be a tight affair, and we expect a similar type of contest on Monday. Neither side will want to suffer a defeat ahead of the Christmas period, something which could lead to an uneventful low-scoring draw being played in the North-West.
