Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has insisted that the door is still open for Kyle Walker to continue at the Etihad should he not receive any enticing offers from elsewhere.

The 34-year-old was omitted from the Citizens squad for their 8-0 FA Cup obliteration of Salford City at the weekend, and Guardiola made the striking announcement post-match that he had asked to leave.

Walker has operated at the top level in a City shirt for seven-and-a-half years, but he has experienced a notable physical and technical decline this season, and his performances have been heavily criticised.

The former Tottenham Hotspur man is now exploring his options for a move to a foreign league, having plied his trade in his homeland for the entirety of his career, and City are not expected to stand in his way if a suitable offer comes in.

Tottenham Hotspur attacker Dejan Kulusevski is supposedly being targeted by Napoli manager Antonio Conte as a possible replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Conte dropped the bombshell on Saturday that Kvaratskhelia had asked to leave the club, and Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be edging closer to a deal for the Georgian sensation.

Liverpool were also tipped to move for Kvaratskhelia were he to become available, but the 23-year-old is already said to have reached an agreement in principle with PSG, who are now working to strike an accord with Napoli.

The exit of 'Kvaradona' will leave Conte with Matteo Politano, Cyril Ngonge, David Neres and Alessio Zerbin as his wide options, and the Partenopei are expected to scope out a replacement with any monies raised.

Chelsea have reportedly stolen a march on Real Madrid and Arsenal in the race to sign 18-year-old Ajax defender Jorrel Hato, who is valued at around £40m by the Dutch giants.

Enzo Maresca's defensive ranks have been hit by injuries to Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile in recent weeks, and there are fears that the former could miss the rest of the season with a hamstring problem.

Fofana recently rejected Maresca's suggestion that he might not play again before the campaign is up, affirming that he is targeting a return for March, but there are no guarantees that he will be back by the spring.

Alongside the injuries to Badiashile and Fofana, exiled left-back Ben Chilwell will leave the club either this month or in the summer, and Axel Disasi has also been tipped to make a swift exit amid links with Serie A.

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim remained coy on whether Marcus Rashford has played his last game for the Red Devils following his latest high-profile snub.

After missing the 2-2 Premier League draw with Liverpool last weekend due to illness, Rashford was declared fit for the FA Cup third-round encounter with Arsenal at the Emirates this weekend.

However, Rashford was again left out of the squad to face the Gunners, as Amad Diallo, Joshua Zirkzee and Antony were selected to the substitutes' bench ahead of the England international.

Exactly one month has now passed since Rashford last made an appearance for his boyhood club, and his only call-up to a matchday squad since then saw him sit on the bench for the entirety of Man United's 2-0 loss to Newcastle United in late December.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reaffirmed his love and trust in the attackers at his disposal following the Gunners' excruciating penalty-shootout loss to Manchester United in the FA Cup third round.

Arteta's team came into their second straight knockout contest on the back of a painful 2-0 EFL Cup semi-final first-leg loss to Newcastle United, where they registered 3.76 Expected Goals (xG) but failed to find the back of the net.

Arsenal and Newcastle's attacking differences were laid bare on that evening, as Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz both wasted golden openings while Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon clinically converted their chances.

North London lightning struck twice for Arsenal in that regard on Sunday, where Martin Odegaard had a penalty saved by Altay Bayindir and Havertz spurned some more glorious chances as the 10 men of Man United forced penalties after a 1-1 draw.
