Manchester United are reportedly giving consideration to a potential approach for former player Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who currently represents Los Angeles Galaxy.

Manchester United have reportedly identified former striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a potential January signing.

During a previous spell at United, the Swede netted 17 times from 33 outings in the Premier League, before being allowed to take up an opportunity with MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy.

While the 37-year-old's stay has been a huge success, with 50 goals coming from 54 games, the veteran has previously joked that he would be open to returning to Old Trafford should the chance present itself.

According to reports in Spain, the Premier League giants have not ruled out a reunion at the midway point of the campaign, especially if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team continue to struggle for goals.

With United in a position where they need to replace Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku, the acquisition of Ibrahimovic in January could make sense for all parties given that the player's current deal is due to expire at the end of 2019.
