Thierry Henry has sent a message to former Arsenal team-mate Patrick Vieira that his Monaco side aim to win at home in Ligue 1 for the first time this season against Nice.

Henry is the manager of a struggling Monaco team who are still looking to win at Stade Louis II in the league in the current campaign.

Henry's former Gunners and France team-mate Vieira is having a much better time of it having guided Nice to eighth in the table and just four points off a Europa League spot.

But Henry has his mind on things at the other end of the table and wants a first home victory to move his 19th-placed side out of the bottom two.

Henry told the Monaco website: "Nice is a very important match for the fans of both teams. We would like to win this first game at home this season in Ligue 1."

Monaco will have to do without recent signings Cesc Fabregas, Naldo and Fode Ballo-Toure who are ineligible for the rearranged fixture which was postponed from its original date in the wake of fuel protests in France.

Henry added: "Naldo, Ballo-Toure, and Cesc will be missed against Nice. We must make do. This is the rule, it must be respected."

Monaco are already without a raft of ill and injured players including Radamel Falcao, Adama Traore, Andrea Raggi, Nacer Chadli and Stevan Jovetic but Djibril Sidibe has returned to training.

Nice are without Bassem Srarfi who suffered a shoulder injury in the 1-0 win over Bordeaux on Saturday and he joins Myziane Maolida (foot), Mickael Le Bihan (knee), Gautier Lloris (back), Yoan Cardinale (hamstring) and Pierre Lees-Melou (ankle) on the injury list.
