Manchester United may have to be braced for competition from a number of Premier League clubs for Real Betis winger Jesus Rodriguez.

The Red Devils somehow managed to advance into the semi-finals of the Europa League after beating Lyon 5-4 on Thursday night, winning their quarter-final tie 7-6 on aggregate.

Harry Maguire scored the winner in the second half of extra time, with boss Ruben Amorim utilising him as an auxiliary striker in the dying moments of the game.

The fact that United had to resort to using Maguire in the forward line will be concerning to the Portuguese manager, and it would not be surprising if he looked to upgrade his side's attacking options in the summer.

The Reds are set for an extraordinary April, having confirmed new deals for Salah and Van Dijk at a time where they are only two wins away from guaranteeing the Premier League title.

Salah's two-year renewal until 2027 was announced last Friday, before Liverpool also confirmed that captain Van Dijk had agreed to stay on for another couple of seasons on Thursday.

The Premier League leaders have seemingly failed to persuade Trent Alexander-Arnold to continue at his boyhood club, though, as the right-back is set to join Real Madrid on a free transfer when his terms run out.

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly both been in contact with Eintracht Frankfurt to enquire about a possible move for goalkeeper Kaua Santos this summer.

The 22-year-old was an unknown quantity when he joined Die Adler from boyhood club Flamengo in 2023, but he has quickly come into his own in the Europa League in particular.

Santos excelled during Frankfurt's 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the first leg of their quarter-final last week, making five saves and claiming five crosses to secure a positive result for his side.

Santos is set to guard the posts again in Thursday's second leg, where Frankfurt have the upper hand against Tottenham and will meet Bodo/Glimt or Lazio in the semi-finals if they can progress on home soil.

Manchester United have apparently suffered a setback in their efforts to sign Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, who favours a move to one of two Premier League rivals instead.

The former Manchester City man is expected to be available for a relatively modest fee this summer, as Kieran McKenna's men are on the brink of being sent straight back down to the Championship.

Ipswich are 14 points adrift of safety in the Premier League table with just six games left to play, meaning that their demotion could be confirmed if they suffer defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.

Even though Delap's Ipswich deal runs until the summer of 2029, the Tractor Boys would be fighting a losing battle to keep him if they were to go down, as the 22-year-old has demonstrated his top-flight quality this season.

The Denmark international has a contract at Old Trafford until June 2028, with the option of a further 12 months, but he could be on the move during this summer's transfer window.

Prior to the start of this season, the Blues spent in the region of €14m (£12m) to secure the services of the versatile Basel defender on a seven-year contract.

Although Veiga would make 12 starts and six substitute outings in all competitions during the first half of the season, he rarely played in his preferred position of centre-back.

As a result, Chelsea gave the green light for the 21-year-old to make the loan switch to Juventus for the remainder of 2024-25, with the hope being that he would earn experience in the middle of their defence.
