Manchester United reportedly failed with a bid to sign Juventus forward Paulo Dybala due to an issue regarding image rights.

Manchester United reportedly failed to secure the signing of Juventus forward Paulo Dybala owing to a disagreement over image rights.

Having been heavily linked with a move for the Argentina international for over a week, reports emerged over the weekend which claimed that the two parties had failed to reach a positive conclusion during discussions.

There has been speculation regarding whether Dybala simply opted against penning a long-term deal at Old Trafford due to United not featuring in next season's Champions League.

However, according to the Daily Mail, United refused to pay a fee of £15m in order to secure the player's image rights, which are owned by a third party.

The report adds that the Premier League giants had already scheduled a meeting to continue their progress in negotiations, only to discover that they would be required to pay £15m on top of any fee for Dybala.
