Aston Villa are to rival Chelsea and Liverpool in the race to sign Exeter City's teenage midfielder Ben Chrisene, according to a report.

Aston Villa are reportedly set to rival Chelsea and Liverpool in the race to sign Exeter City's teenage midfielder Ben Chrisene.

The 15-year-old became the club's youngest ever player when he debuted against Coventry City in the EFL Cup in August and he has since featured in the Grecians' wins in the EFL Trophy over Cheltenham Town and Newport County.

The Birmingham Mail reports that Chrisene is now on the radar of Dean Smith's Villa, who currently sit 16th in the Premier League after 11 games back in English football's top flight.

Following Smith's appointment as manager, the Villans have put together a younger squad and the talented Exeter prospect would certainly fit that mould.

Liverpool have been interested in Chrisene since the summer of 2018, while Chelsea and Bayern Munich took a greater interest in him following his debut against Coventry.
