Barcelona 'willing to lower Philippe Coutinho wage demands'

Barcelona are reportedly prepared to lower their demands regarding Philippe Coutinho's wages in order to part ways with the playmaker.

Barcelona are reportedly prepared to reach a compromise with any clubs who hold an interest in Philippe Coutinho.

Despite having returned a solid number of goals and assists at Camp Nou and during a loan spell with Bayern Munich, neither club wish to have the Brazil international in their squad next season.

Although there are known to be admirers in the Premier League, it remains to be seen whether any team are willing to meet Coutinho's wages in full, on top of a loan fee of £10m.

However, according to The Telegraph, Barcelona officials may now be willing to pay a portion of the 28-year-old's income over the next 12 months.

While the La Liga leaders are keen to reduce their outgoings as much as possible, they are eager to have an agreement in place before June 30.

The alleged development may alert Arsenal, who are said to be open to handing the former Liverpool man a second spell in England's top flight.
