Manchester City and Real Madrid have reportedly suffered a major blow in the pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz, who has indicated that he wants to join Bayern Munich this summer.

Wirtz has developed a reputation as one of Europe's brightest attacking talents since emerging from Leverkusen's youth system.

The 22-year-old played a key role in Leverkusen's memorable 2023-24 season, scoring 18 goals and providing 20 assists in 49 appearances to help the club complete the domestic double and reach the Europa League final.

Wirtz has continued to shine in the current campaign, having registered 16 goals and 13 assists in 43 matches in all competitions.

Arsenal show 'fresh interest' in signing £85m attacker

Arsenal are reportedly prepared to renew their transfer interest in West Ham United attacker Mohammed Kudus.

The Ghana international has established himself as a key part of the West Ham side since he arrived from Dutch giants Ajax in the summer of 2023.

Kudus was particularly impressive in his first season with the Hammers, netting 18 goals and providing 10 assists in 48 competitive matches.

Trent Alexander-Arnold's decision to leave Liverpool means he has rejected the chance to become a legend of the club and he will no longer be remembered fondly, Reds expert David Lynch has insisted.

The defender confirmed that he would be leaving Anfield upon the expiry of his contract in the summer in a video message to fans on Monday, but reactions to his statement have been mixed.

While some supporters have wished the 26-year-old well, others have criticised the manner of his exit from Merseyside, as leaving without receiving a transfer fee could put the club at a disadvantage ahead of a summer of transition.

Lynch argued that Alexander-Arnold will have to accept that his actions means he will no longer be seen as a legend at Anfield, telling Sports Mole: "He has to accept that. It's being discussed by people who are not close to it, who can't seemingly understand why there's a frustration or why he won't be a Liverpool legend.

Bayern Munich have reportedly given Leroy Sane a 10-day deadline to sign a new contract with the club, or he will leave on a free this summer.
