"I suspect" - Kiwior's Arsenal future discussed after Real Madrid heroics

Charles Watts/Jakub Kiwior composite

Arsenal could still sanction Jakub Kiwior's exit from the Emirates this summer in spite of his heroics against Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals, Gunners journalist Charles Watts believes.

The Poland international was an unexpected success story during that 5-1 aggregate win over the reigning European champions, barely putting a foot wrong in either leg as he shone alongside William Saliba in defence.

Gooners may have understandably feared for their side's hopes of progression when Gabriel Magalhaes picked up a season-ending hamstring injury at the start of the month, especially as Kiwior has struggled to stay composed during previous - and rare - starts this season.

Man United win and Liverpool lose as 'shock' Rashford swap deal mooted

Manchester United are allegedly giving serious consideration to an audacious swap deal with Aston Villa involving Marcus Rashford and Ollie Watkins during the summer transfer window.

The duo are currently jostling for starts under Unai Emery in the West Midlands, but it was Watkins who was given the nod against Newcastle United in Saturday's Premier League game.

Having been overlooked against Paris Saint-Germain in both legs of Villa's Champions League quarter-final, Watkins sent Unai Emery a huge selection message with the opening goal just 33 seconds into that 4-1 win.

The England international's strike also saw him move level with Gabriel Agbonlahor for the most Premier League goals for Aston Villa, but he may continue to face incredibly stiff competition from Rashford next season.

'Wouldn't go down brilliantly' - Why Arsenal should ignore legend's transfer advice

Charles Watts/Liam Delap composite

Arsenal making Ipswich Town's Liam Delap their marquee striker signing this summer would not "go down brilliantly" with the majority of supporters, Gunners expert Charles Watts believes.

Mikel Arteta's side collide with Delap's Tractor Boys in Sunday's Premier League game at Portman Road amid intense speculation surrounding the future of the 22-year-old, who is expected to be on the move this summer.

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has recommended the Gunners try to sign Delap as one of two strikers in the upcoming transfer window, where he could leave for just £30m if Ipswich are relegated due to a clause in his contract.

However, Arsenal have never been properly linked with a move for Delap - Manchester United and Chelsea appear to be the frontrunners - and Watts cannot see the Gunners heeding Parlour's advice.

Blues face 'competition' from European giant for Premier League striker

Chelsea's Enzo Maresca on March 12, 2025

Chelsea are reportedly braced for competition from Juventus for the signature of Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, who is almost certain to leave in the summer transfer window.

The Blues will face West London rivals Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday in the Premier League, and they will be aiming to bounce back from a disappointing 2-1 defeat against Legia Warsaw last Thursday in the Conference League.

Enzo Maresca's team still advanced into the semi-finals of the competition after winning 4-2 on aggregate, but the defeat has placed the Blues boss under even more pressure.

The Londoners are at risk of not qualifying for the Champions League, with key stars such as Cole Palmer misfiring in attack in recent months.

Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres has claimed that he does not currently know where his future lies amidst speculation that Arsenal and Manchester United have identified him as a target.

The Gunners will play Ipswich Town on Sunday in the Premier League following their 2-1 victory against Real Madrid in the second leg of their quarter-final tie on Wednesday.

Mikel Arteta's side advanced into the semi-finals of Europe's premier competition despite fielding midfielder Mikel Merino up front.

It would be surprising if the Londoners failed to address their issues in attack in the upcoming summer transfer window, with Sporting striker Gyokeres strongly linked with a move to the Emirates.

Onana future update at United as Amorim's 'priorities' for summer become clear

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana may have been handed a lifeline amidst reports Ruben Amorim has settled on upgrading other areas of the pitch first.

The Red Devils are set to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday in the Premier League following their remarkable 5-4 victory against Lyon in the Europa League on Thursday.

Amorim's side advanced into the semi-finals of the competition after winning 7-6 on aggregate, but the tie may have been more straightforward had shot-stopper Onana not made two critical errors in the first leg leading to goals.

The Cameroonian has faced significant criticism for his performances since arriving from Inter Milan ahead of the 2023-24 season, with some reports suggesting that the club would be keen to move him on.

Tottenham's own Henry? Spurs ready to 'pay big' for 17-year-old gem

Tottenham Hotspur are supposedly pushing to win the race for 17-year-old Gambian starlet Gibril Sima, who shares similarities with Thierry Henry.

The Lilywhites completed a £65m deal for Dominic Solanke to fill Harry Kane's boots last summer, and even though his first season has been bedevilled by inconsistency, he scored Spurs' most important goal of the campaign so far in midweek.

Solanke's penalty in a 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt sent Tottenham through to the semi-finals of the Europa League, where they will take on Bodo/Glimt for the right to meet Manchester United or Athletic Bilbao in the showpiece event.

Success in Europe's secondary competition will earn Spurs a ticket to the Champions League, boosting their chances of attracting top talent, but failure to go all the way will condemn them to a season with no continental football in 2025-26.

'Influential figures' under pressure as Maresca 'pushes' for £30m Chelsea deal

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is allegedly putting pressure on the Blues' board to win the race for Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap this summer.

The Tractor Boys could be sent straight back down to the Championship this weekend, sitting 14 points behind Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United in 18th place in the Premier League table.

If Ipswich lose to Arsenal, Wolves overcome Manchester United and West Ham defeat Southampton over the Easter weekend, Kieran McKenna's side will officially be relegated with five games left to play.

Ipswich's relegation is likely to precede the inevitable exit of Delap, who has been a shining light in a troubled campaign with 12 goals and two assists from 31 Premier League appearances this term.

Man Utd man holds the key as Liverpool 'turn attention' to £40m striker

Liverpool have reportedly identified a new striker target for the summer transfer window in the shape of Aston Villa talisman Ollie Watkins.

The Reds are on the cusp of winning Premier League title number two as they hold a 13-point lead over Arsenal at the summit, meaning that victory over Leicester City on Sunday would be enough if the Gunners are stunned by Ipswich Town.

Arne Slot has mainly had Mohamed Salah to thank for Liverpool's astounding Premier League season, as the Egypt international has contributed a record-breaking 45 direct involvements, the most ever for a 38-game campaign in the competition.

However, both Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota have failed to cut the mustard in the number nine position, and there is an expectation that Liverpool will go after a new centre-forward in the summer window.

Man United to step up Dibling pursuit on 'one key condition'

Manchester United will reportedly step up their interest in Southampton attacker Tyler Dibling if they win the Europa League this season.

The Red Devils will look to strengthen Ruben Amorim's squad this summer in a bid to avoid a repeat of what has been a disappointing Premier League campaign.

Man United will end the season with their lowest ever Premier League points tally after taking just 38 points from 32 top-flight matches.

Dibling is seemingly viewed as one of the names that could bolster the Man United ranks ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

Aston Villa midfielder attracting La Liga interest, Atletico 'circling' for loanee

Aston Villa are reportedly expected to receive an array of offers for one of their midfielders during the summer transfer window.

On the back of their Champions League elimination at the quarter-final stage earlier this week, Villa are now focused on trying to achieve a top-five position in the Premier League table and winning the FA Cup.

Achieving those goals could prove pivotal in determining the size of Unai Emery's budget once the market reopens in June, Villa potentially looking at spending in the region of £55m to retain loanees Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford.

Jhon Duran's move to Al-Nassr in the winter will help matters on that front, yet Villa are no strangers to having to wheel and deal to comply with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability regulations.

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has taken his chance to heap praise on Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Fabio Silva.

The 22-year-old has spent the campaign on loan at Las Palmas, emerging as one of the most impressive performers in the final third this season considering that his temporary club are in a La Liga relegation battle.

Silva has notably scored in away games at Barcelona and Real Madrid, contributing a total of 10 goals and three assists from 23 appearances.

As a result, the Portugal international has been linked with a wide array of clubs ahead of the summer transfer window, those admirers aware that Wolves are highly likely to cash in on the striker once the market reopens later in 2025.

Chelsea 'make contact' over move for Bayern Munich defender

Chelsea have reportedly identified a Bayern Munich defender as a potential summer transfer target.

The Blues are currently in a fight to secure European football for next season, not helped by dropping down to sixth place in the Premier League table.

However, regardless of whether Enzo Maresca's side can earn a spot on the continent for 2025-26, there will be more movement in the market.

Although Chelsea are well stocked for central defenders, Maresca has spoken openly regarding a lack of leaders in the dressing room, something that he may look to rectify at the end of the campaign.

Arsenal suffer Zubimendi blow as midfielder's 'priority' revealed

Arsenal-linked midfielder Martin Zubimendi has reportedly indicated that he would prefer to move to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

Zubimendi famously turned down the chance to join Liverpool last summer in favour of remaining with his boyhood club Real Sociedad for another season.

However, it now appears that the Spain international is ready to leave La Real and seek fresh pastures ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

Last month, it was reported that new Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta had been tasked with securing the signature of the Euro 2024 winner.
