Perth Glory vs. Victory - prediction, team news, lineups

Melbourne Victory will continue to try and push off the bottom of the A-League table on Saturday when they travel to Macedonia Park to play Perth Glory.

The hosts might be further up the division, but after being held to a draw in their most recent outing they will be keen to get back to winning ways.

Match preview

Perth Glory might have been held to a draw last week, but it was a result that will have felt like a victory due to the fact that they scored a 92nd-minute equaliser.

The Glory were initially two goals down after 26 minutes, but Zachary Duncan and David Williams were on hand to ensure they took at least a point from the game.

The result extended their undefeated run to three games as they continue to try and progress up the division, currently sitting in ninth place.

While a victory this time around could potentially move them to fourth, a defeat would lead to Melbourne Victory overtaking them in the table.

Despite the closeness of the two teams, Perth Glory will take confidence into this game because they are undefeated at home this season.

Even though that is something Melbourne Victory will be wary of, they have been stronger on the road.

After two defeats in a row, Perth Glory managed to get themselves a point in their last outing with a 1-1 draw against Adelaide United.

An equaliser from Nicholas D'Agostino was enough to secure the result, and that is something they shall now look to kick on from.

Team News

Williams and Duncan both made an impact from the bench in the previous match by scoring, and they will be hoping that was enough to get them a starting role this time around.

Jacob Dowse also made an impact with his crossing quality, and that is something else that could be considered from an early stage.

For the visitors Bruno Fornaroli will be out to make an impact after he made his loan deal a permanent one, which he will want to celebrate with a victory.

Matt Bozinovski and Noah Smith both made their first starts for Melbourne Victory, and they will be hoping to be in contention once more.

Perth Glory possible starting lineup:

Cook; Lachman, Muir, Koutroumbis; Forde, Duncan, Amini, Jelacic, Clisby; Dowse, Ivanovic

Melbourne Victory possible starting lineup:

Acton; Geria, Spiranovic, Broxham; Ikonomidis, Wilson, Rai, Brimmer, Cadete; Nani, Folami

We say: Perth Glory 2-1 Melbourne Victory

Melbourne Victory will be desperate to pick up a win here as a positive result would take them off the bottom of the table.

However, it is the hosts that should have enough quality to get through this one with a victory.
