How Manchester United could line up against RB Leipzig

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester United could line up in Tuesday's Champions League clash with RB Leipzig.

Manchester United will head to RB Leipzig on Tuesday night knowing that a point would see them book their spot in the last-16 stage of the Champions League.

Paris Saint-Germain join United and Leipzig on nine points in Group H and all three teams are battling to secure their position in the knockout round of Europe's leading competition.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, who lost 3-1 at home to PSG last week, will enter the match off the back of an impressive 3-1 victory at West Ham United in the Premier League.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the Red Devils could line up in Germany.

Out: Phil Jones (knee), Fred (suspended), Edinson Cavani (muscle), Anthony Martial (muscle)

Solskjaer could decide to select a three-man defence on Tuesday night, having had plenty of success with a 3-4-1-2 formation, including away to PSG in the competition earlier this season.

Axel Tuanzebe is therefore in line for a spot in the starting XI, while Alex Telles should again get the nod on the left as Luke Shaw has still not fully recovered from a hamstring issue.

United will be without the services of key midfielder Fred due to his red card against PSG last week, meaning that Paul Pogba, who scored a long-range goal against West Ham, could feature alongside Scott McTominay.

Both Anthony Martial and Edinson Cavani were forced off against the Hammers on Saturday, meaning that Mason Greenwood could start alongside Marcus Rashford as a front two.

Cavani was thought to have a better chance of making the squad than Martial, but the pair have both missed out on spots in the travelling party.

Bruno Fernandes was rested for the first 45 minutes of Saturday's Premier League clash but will be back in the starting XI, and the Portugal international will be looking to come up with another man-of-the-match display.

David de Gea, meanwhile, should replace Dean Henderson between the sticks, having been left out against West Ham with a sore knee.
