Manchester City are closing in on the signature of Juventus attacker Cristiano Ronaldo, according to a report.

Manchester City are allegedly closing in on a deal for Juventus attacker Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portugal international has emerged as Man City's leading attacking target after Harry Kane revealed that he would be staying at Tottenham Hotspur beyond the end of this summer's transfer window.

A recent report claimed that the 36-year-old had already agreed personal terms with the Citizens and spoke to the English club's head coach Pep Guardiola on Thursday morning.

According to ESPN, Man City and Ronaldo are close to reaching an agreement, although the deal could be held up by Juventus demanding in the region of £24m as a transfer fee.

The report claims that Old Lady boss Massimiliano Allegri is 'relaxed' over the situation, with the Italian giants likely to move for a new forward in the coming days if Ronaldo leaves.

The Portuguese, who has less than one year left to run on his current deal, has scored 101 times in 134 appearances for the Old Lady in all competitions.

The former Sporting Lisbon youngster previously played in the Premier League for Manchester United between 2003 and 2009, scoring 118 goals in 292 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions.
