When anchor Suhana Meharchand introduced a news clip on the Canadian cable news network about the 41-year-old's interview with Oprah Winfrey, the chyron lettering at the bottom of the screen read: 'Report: Armstrong Used Rugs.'

The omission of 'D' from 'Rugs' has caused the story to go viral on social networking sites.

Armstrong's interview with Oprah will be broadcast in the UK on the Discovery Channel at 2am on Friday.
