Everton defender Phil Jagielka decided to leave his football commitments behind temporarily to take on new skills in the kitchen.
The England international learned to cook a traditional Thai dish with chef Kim Kaewkraikhot to celebrate the Songkran festival.
Jagielka admitted that he was "proud" of his Pad Thai dish, which he cooked at Chaophraya restaurant in Liverpool as part of an event associated with Everton sponsors Chang Beer.
"I've mixed it up with the head chef and we've made some Pad Thai," said Jagielka. "I think they were very kind to me - giving me all the ingredients ready-made. It was a full proof plan but I'm pretty proud, it tasted pretty nice and I can go and brag now that I can cook a full Thai dish."
