England's players throw team masseur Paul Smith into an ice bath to celebrate his 50th birthday.

England's players decided to celebrate the 50th birthday of team masseur Paul Smith by tying him to a chair and throwing him into an ice bath.

Steven Gerrard, Glen Johnson and goalkeeper Joe Hart were among those involved as Daniel Sturridge filmed the birthday 'treat' and uploaded the video online.

Smith is well known by the Liverpool players in the World Cup squad as he began working with the Merseyside outfit back in 2002.

Alongside Sturridge's video on Instagram, the striker wrote: "Happy 50th pal!!! To the main man Liverpool and England masseur Paul Small. What a guy he is, one liner king..."

He added: "Smally you got a phone on ya mate?"
