Everton manager David Moyes reveals that the club is 'much closer' to sealing a move for Tottenham midfielder Steven Pienaar.

Everton manager David Moyes has revealed that the club is 'much closer' to finalising a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Steven Pienaar.

The South African returned to the Toffees on loan for the second half of last season after joining Spurs over the summer.

"I think we are much closer to Pienaar and hopefully in time I will have something, but I don't quite have it yet," said Moyes after his side's 1-1 draw at Motherwell.

The Merseysiders continue their pre-season campaign against a Malaysia XI in Indonesia on Friday.
